Founded in 1976 , Apollo Tyres is the 17th biggest tyre manufacturer in the world operating four manufacturing units , one in South Africa , two in Zimbabwe and one in the Netherlands . With a 4,000-strong dealership network of which more than 2,500 are exclusive , the company ’ s strategy is to become the 10th biggest tyre manufacture by 2016 . It currently sells 30,000 tyres a month in Europe and is planning to open a second European production facility in Hungary which is earmarked for inauguration in early 2017 .
