A. John Hart is the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, inspiring and teaching a new generation of manufacturing experts and leaders. In May 2025, he was a co-director during MIT’ s launch of its Initiative for New Manufacturing, which MIT described as an institute-wide effort to reinfuse US industrial production with leading-edge technologies.
