By identifying similarities between models, Porsche aims to reduce and optimise its manufacturing processes. The use of Group construction kits and digital technologies is expected to enhance efficiency.
This approach allows for the sharing of technical components across different models while maintaining the distinct performance characteristics of a sports car. Reducing complexity and the number of variants in the product portfolio is a key priority.
The integration of digital technologies in the production process is also seen as a way to improve profitability. The company said it intends to follow customer wishes rather than reacting to regulations.
Expanding products into high-margin segments Michael placed great emphasis on his Strategy 2035 and set out the first cornerstones, saying:“ We are considering the expansion of our product portfolio in order to grow in higher-margin segments. In doing so, we are looking at models and derivatives both above our current twodoor sports cars and above the Cayenne.”
This expansion is part of a broader effort to reposition the company for the next decade, with the goal of the 2035 strategy to“ lay the foundations for sustainably strong cash flow, strong results and margins that are appropriate for Porsche”, Michael explained. This includes looking at models that offer unique opportunities for pricing.
