AI generates both promise and uncertainty across industries. On the one hand, it has the capacity to make industries like manufacturing more productive, efficient and organised. On the other, regulation is not keeping pace with its rapid evolution, and concerns grow over its bias, reliability and capacity for autonomous decision making.
At CES 2025 Bosch SDS reiterated its commitment to ensuring AI adoption is a responsible, value-driven and people-led process.“ We want to create and embed AI in products that our customers can trust,” Digant says.
“ The whole notion of trust and responsible AI is at the forefront at Bosch, with our code of AI ethics first rolled out back in February 2020,” he adds.“ When we use AI in our manufacturing process or products it is all about transparency, fairness, privacy, accountability and human oversight.”
Bosch has enhanced its cybersecurity to mitigate and mask the vulnerabilities of AI algorithms and created vital guardrails, frameworks and assets to ensure its safe use.
This work informs the company’ s innovation in the sphere of digital twins, which was showcased at CES 2025. Bosch SDS is a significant champion of AI-enabled digital twins, which can be built and deployed at a far quicker pace.“ Ten years back, a digital twin would be a huge undertaking,” Digant explains.“ You’ d need to make sense out of all these unstructured data models. Now with AI large language models, we’ re seeing an acceleration of how quickly they can be made and the quality of the real-time insights they can provide.”
Bosch is helping its customers unlock this growing potential of AI-enabled digital twins, and their capacity to provide integrated assets that enhance performance management, process optimisation and predictive maintenance.
Many of these customers are in the mobility sector, where digital twins and AI have a vital role to play in the drive towards electrification.
Earlier in 2025, Bosch shared innovative new approaches to battery laser welding and smart battery formation whilst urging automakers to continue pursuing greater integration between software and hardware.
These approaches were further enhanced through the power of AI and digital twins, two smart manufacturing technologies that Bosch SDS continues to take to the next level.
