Q. HOW DO YOU SEE THIS CHANGING THE INDUSTRY OVER THE NEXT 12 MONTHS?
» Over the next year, I believe we’ ll see a shift from isolated automation projects toward more connected and intelligent manufacturing systems.
Advances in AI, automation and industrial connectivity are making it possible to connect data, processes, equipment and people in ways that simply weren’ t possible just a few years ago. As manufacturers build stronger data foundations, they will increasingly use AI to accelerate decision-making, improve quality and respond to disruptions faster.
I also think we’ ll continue to see the perception of manufacturing evolve. For many people, manufacturing still brings to mind outdated images of dark, dirty or dangerous work environments. But modern manufacturing roles are increasingly focused on technology, analysis, collaboration and problemsolving. The organisations that invest in developing talent alongside technology will have a significant competitive advantage.
