The effects of AI, Kris says, can be seen in production ramp rates, yield curves and preventative maintenance, each moving faster than in the past. Generative AI has not replaced the discipline, but is accelerating it.
AI is also changing demand for Micron’ s products. Kris says:“ We’ re entering a period where AI is moving beyond the data centre into cars, factories and everyday devices.” This change will create new demand for memory and storage of autonomous vehicles, humanoid robotics and immersive AR technologies move into daily life, he feels:“ We believe the next wave of innovation will happen at the edge, and memory will be one of the foundational technologies that makes it possible.”
