With the passing of Ratan Tata , former Chairperson of the Tata Sons and Tata Trusts , his half-brother Noel Tata has been appointed the new Chairman of Tata Trusts .
Tata Trusts , the influential philanthropic arm of India ’ s Tata Group , holds 66 % of Tata Sons , which gives him significant control of the US $ 165bn conglomerate , Tata Group .
The Tata Group oversees 30 firms across automotive , aviation and consumer goods , including manufacturers Starbucks , Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley Tea .
Noel Tata has over 40 years of experience and the enthusiastic support of the board .
