PICKING PRIORITIES
“ Appliance manufacturing sits at a particular intersection of consumer expectations and technological complexity,” he says.“ Today’ s consumers expect appliances to perform reliably, but also to be energy-efficient, connected and durable over the long term.”
At the same time, products are becoming more complex and software-driven.“ We navigate this by staying very focused on the full product lifecycle. Not just what happens at the point of sale, but the quality of the experience throughout the years of ownership. That’ s where trust is built.”
Can told me he has three top priorities for the company which“ reflect both where the industry is heading and where we see the biggest opportunities for long-term growth”.
Commercial performance and consumer relevance takes the top spot, as it would for most businesses.“ At our scale, sustainable growth comes from being locally relevant while executing consistently across markets,” he explains.
“ Manufacturing today is operating under real pressure – supply chain complexity, cost volatility, a tightening regulatory environment,” Can says. This makes operational excellence his next priority. Continued investment in people, alongside innovation, has also made his list.
He explains:“ Technology is a core driver of competitiveness, but it’ s the people who make it work.”
